إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ١

When earth is shaken with a mighty shaking

وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ٢

and earth brings forth her burdens,

وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا ٣

and Man says., ’What ails her?’

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ٤

upon that day she shall tell her tidings

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ٥

for that her Lord has inspired her.

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ ٦

Upon that day men shall issue in scatterings to see their works,

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ ٧

and whoso has done an atom’s weight of good shall see it,

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ ٨

and whoso has done an atom’s weight of evil shall see it.
