Al-Mursalât

وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا ١

By the soft blowing, pleasant breezes which blow in succession,

فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا ٢

Then by the violent winds which blow with fierce gusts,

وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا ٣

And by those which spread the clouds all around,

فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا ٤

Then by those which split (them) apart and break them off,

فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا ٥

Then by those which bring direction and guidance,

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا ٦

To accomplish the argument or to warn,

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ ٧

Surely, the promise (of the Last Day) which is being given to you will be certainly fulfilled.

فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ ٨

Then when the light of the stars will be extinguished,

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ ٩

And when the heavenly universe will be split open,

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ ١٠

And when the mountains will be (broken down to dust) and blown off,

وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ ١١

And when the Messengers will be brought together at the appointed time (to bear witness to their respective communities),

لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ ١٢

Well, for what Day is the term (of all the affairs) appointed?

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ ١٣

For the Day of Judgment!

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ١٤

And who has told you what the Day of Judgment is?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١٥

Woe (and devastation) to the deniers on that Day!

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ ١٦

Did We not destroy the people (who denied) before?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ ١٧

Then We also cause the later ones to follow them (in destruction).

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ ١٨

This is how We sort out (the matter) with the evildoers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١٩

Woe to the deniers on that Day!

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ ٢٠

Did We not create you from (a drop) of detestable fluid?
