ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَن تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلَّا أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَاتٍ ۖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِي دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ ٢٤
Thalika biannahum qaloo lan tamassana alnnaru illa ayyaman maAAdoodatin wagharrahum fee deenihim ma kanoo yaftaroona

This (courage to deviate) is because they say: ‘The Fire of Hell will not touch us except for a few numbered days.’ And the lies that they invent (about Allah) have deluded them with regard to their din (religion). (3:24)
