الَّذِينَ قَالُوا لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا ۗ قُلْ فَادْرَءُوا عَنْ أَنفُسِكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ١٦٨
Allatheena qaloo liikhwanihim waqaAAadoo law ataAAoona ma qutiloo qul faidraoo AAan anfusikumu almawta in kuntum sadiqeena

(They) are the ones who said about their brothers, whilst they themselves stayed back (home): ‘Had they accepted our counsel, they would not have been slain.’ Say: ‘Protect yourselves from death if you are truthful.’ (3:168)
