ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى اللَّهِ يَهْدِي بِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۚ وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُوا لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ٨٨

This is the guidance of Allah whereby He guides those of His servants whom He wills. But, if (supposedly) they had associated partners with Allah, all their (pious) deeds that they performed would have been seized (i.e., become void). (6:88)
